there is a live to eart fault on that lighting cirtuit how have u jointed the cable out and have you trpaed it in any way

can you get a picture of the dirgrams of the new stat and ill tell you where the wire go

turn the mains off to it and and an electrican out to have a look at it.

why wouldent it? you can have a rcd as a main swicth

just change the main swicth to an rcd incommer
