Sorry, yes the control panel is open when I key the commands. I just don't understand why the external siren doesn't trigger even though it works when you put the blue wire in the 0v. Its therefore live and that's why I'm convinced there's something very simple I'm overlooking.

Oh, no, I've not opened the external bell box at all if that's what you mean ? All I've done is through the programme mode on the control panel.

When in programme mode the lid is always open. Like I say, it all sets and triggers with the sensor but for some unknown reason the external siren and strobe don't activate.

I left the strobe wire in the 0v for several minutes but the strobe still didn't activate. I've reset the bell delay to nil by keying 91 Omit Reset and Reset again and whilst the alarm all sets, only the internal sounders are triggered and the external one is silent even though I know it works...
