Thanks for replying so quickly, I have an old tile fireplace at the moment with concrete backing. The new one to replace it is a metal fireplace with tiles running down the sides with a slate hearth and wodden surround. I also need to replace the fire brick which i believe is a 16" single unit.....

I have just bought a new fireplace and want to fit it myself, has anyone attempted the same? If so what are the pitfalls. All help greatfully received
