When you say both do you mean T the feed into behind the pump, then T the vent into the return. Then join both of them by T'ing the feed and vent so i have got a 'H' just above.

Tried again all this morning. Mobile still switched off. Looks like he's long gone so have to put this one down to experience. A couple of others recommended to me are all booked up for weeks.

Thanks for the link John. I shall eventually replace this old system with the old floor standing boiler for a combi. As things stand at home i can't do this until late spring when i will get the whole old system and rads ripped out. Hence making the repair to tide us over until then.

I've done quite a few plumbing jobs now so will be OK. So it looks like i need to convert to an indirect cylinder and a header tank. Would someone talk me through how to install it. Obviously i use the cold tank which was above the primatic to supply the cold inlet at the bottom and...

This morning it looked more imploded than last evening!! When i looked at the cold cistern i noticed that the vent pipe had been bent...

Theres a valve either side of the pump. One of them is leaking and wont stop. The valve is like a gate valve but without the wheel on it. Wife says its leaking more since the plumber tried to fix the system. Primatic cylinder has got a huge dent in it. I have begun to fill it halfway but it...

So, what i need to do is isolate the cold feed to the cold water cistern which i can see above the Primatic hot cylinder. Theres no valve on the cold inlet so i suppose i would turn off the cold at the main stopcock. Then open the hot taps and also open a drain off which i have found below a...

Need some help here. Just got in to find wife in floods of tears. This morning she noticed that the pump was leaking. She called a plumber who came out. She said he tried to tighten it up but made the leak worse, so told her he would drain down the system. After a hour he said he was leaving...
