there is some hot water now, though not 85 degrees, but quite warm.

I've only got the upstairs radiators turned on.

I've put ch on, the cylinder top and bottom pipe are now quite warm, though only the first few inches or so, further up is lukewarm. The drained water was very dirty, though drained twice. The water in the hot storage tank looks dirty.

Actually boiler not tripping out now, went off lady time and now came on by itself, though I have turned the temp for hit water to 85. Stayed on for less than a minute though.

boiler still the same, couple of mins. I turned ch off as you said, however the radiator in the bathroom is on now, it's not hot but more than warm. Pump is on speed 3, was allready set on this.

Re the pump - I see what u mean, the arrow on the pump goes to the right, and this goes to a section of pipe that goes up and down. The up part is very short and comes to a knob on the end where it finishes, I unscrewee this, but nothing, no water, or air escapes.

No it's not. The valve is behind the cylnder, terriible place to put it, and frm the valve to the cylnder very hot. The pipe at the front of the cylinder, at the bottom, is very slghtly warm, and the top pipe from cylinder cold, as said.

the pipe in the middle of the 3 port divertor that goes up the loft is hot, allthe way up, but the top of the cylnder pipe is not, this also goes up to the loft, but the pipe going from the divertor to the cylinder is hot, so maybe in the cylinder, or the pipe from the cylinder to the loft?

All 3 pipes going to and from the divertor are hot aswell.

There's 2 pipes to the pump, not sure which is which, but they are both very hot, and so is the pump itself.

found pump, it's in the loft above the cylinder and next to the 2 storage tanks. Removed large screw in the middle, system off. No water really came out. Put back in. Pushed trip switch back in, turned on hot water, boiler fired, and I can hear pump humming, and some water sounds coming from...

I'm not exactly sure where the pump is located. It doesn't seem to be next to the cylinder, but that's where the noise (humming seems to be). It wouldn't be in the boiler would it?
