    Temporary Plumbing for Utility Area

Hello I'm about to have my kitchen redone and the rip out starts on Monday. As we'll be without a kitchen for 6 weeks I'm looking to use a utility area to temporarily house a dishwasher and washing machine I built the utility area and it will be fitted out as part of the new kitchen upgrade...

    Fixing toilet over UFH

Hello - I have wet UFH in my house so cannot drill down through floor tiles into screed to apply fixings for new toilet. I know the toilet I removed wasn't fixed either and just held down with what looked like sealant. It was a proper bugger to remove. Needed crow-barring. So happy to go...

    Routing Cable

Thanks for the advice - it's definitely appreciated. I started routing the cable thinking I might get to the stud wall (offshoot wall on the left) and then look at pulling the panel off / routing through stud. The cable however slipped nicely behind the plasterboard and rested on the dabs at...

    Routing Cable

Hello - just wondering if it's ok to route cable tucked into the gap between plasterboards / maybe dropping behind board.. I've a single 1.5mm T&E lighting cable I need to run. I'm thinking of running it without conduit as per the blue dotted line in the picture. The cable will fit nicely...

Drilling Hole in Joist (Attic Trusses)

I'll take a few when I get home tonight although not sure it will show you much more - if you step back from that picture that's just me looking up through the ceiling.

Drilling Hole in Joist (Attic Trusses)

That's my thinking I don't see how it can impact the strength. But even on the video above it says different rules apply for engineered joists .. and I'm guessing it is engineered as I know the Attic Trusses are and in the picture you can see it's got that big metal plate thing on it attaching...

Drilling Hole in Joist (Attic Trusses)

Cheers - decent video that. I know the regs for drilling joists - I just don't know what the regs are for my joists. I'm guessing my joists are engineered - so different rules.

Drilling Hole in Joist (Attic Trusses)

Hello I'm currently looking to install 6 spots in my downstairs room - replacing an existing pendant light. My house is made with engineered attic Trusses. It's like a big bungalow with an upstairs / downstairs and loft space - although the upstairs rooms have sloped walls. I'm trying to...
