Turned that valve the other way and the rad has started getting hot.....................brilliant...............i'll be nice and cozy tonite thanks to you...

just one last question, the other valve when open, is that fully clockwise? thanks for all your help.

doesnt seem to make any difference, the other pipe to the other end of rad is ice cold

just got a small screw driver and scrapped the paint around the pin away gently and it popped up, im waiting to see if rad heats up.

tapped gently with hammer and the pin went in but didnt pop up again!

no its plastered in paint and rock hard, i tried using the flat blade of a knife to put pressure on it but no good.

The pipe going to the trv is warm(hot at the ceiling end), the pipe going to the other end of the rad is cold, The trv knob is missing and the pin part has been painted with white paint ( painted completely!), how do i push it in with out breaking it and causing damage (would pushing it in solve...

their is two pipes coming to the cold radiator, one goes to the thermo side of radiator and is hot , the other pipe goes to the other side of radator and is cold half way down the wall, does that shed any light on my problem....thanks

i never heard of the bread either, i thought he was taking the **** when he told me to get the bread. I forgot to mention that at the end of the cold radiator their is a knob with a pin (i think the white cover with the mumbers on it has been missing a long time but this never affected it...

All radiators hot, except downstairs one, this one wont heat, just had an upstairs pipe replaced and wont heat since that, the plumber put bread in the pipes to seal it dry till he soldered it and said it would shift it self along the pipe and dissolve. ive turned all other rads off (except one...
