Thanks. The rainwater from the rest of the property goes to a surface water drain. My original plan was to hook up to that. It's only about 8m from the rubble soakaway.
Thanks for confirming a soakaway is a non- starter - I think I would have tried to persever otherwise!
I am in the process of replacing a rubble soakaway and have a 1m2 plastic crate system to install. This will take water from a garage and conservatory roof (current soakaway only takes from conservatory with the garage filling a water but and overflowing on to the garden.

Is there a particular reason why diverting to the surface water sewer would be a bad idea?
I hadn't thought of doing that. May I ask, what's the benefit to renewing the soakaway in this instance, rather than going straight to the surface water sewer?
