Knocked up a small bench/storage unit for the seat cusions from left over decking. So easy to make I'll probably make a couple more of these as they are so useful.
You only need 1 4"x2" or 2"x2" 2.4m joist and 6 2.4m planks + hinges if you want.
Could also be used as a planter without the lid...
Hi,
I purchased the fittings from various places such as Screwfix but I can't see it coming in much less than £50.
You need mounting points or poles, steel rope, cleats, turnbuckles and optionally quick release connectors.
Hi and many thanks.
The cover is a shade sail originally from Australia but available in the UK from primrose-London website amongst others. This is the 3.6m square and is approx. £50 but budget for another £50 for fittings. You really need steel rope to get the required tension. There are also...
5w-30 will be fine as long it is of the same type e.g. mineral and not synthetic.
I bought a mower not too long ago, a 1970 mountfield witha B+S engine that looked like it hadn't ever had an oil change and it still runs great. I used some regular Castrol.
Garden from just over a year ago
As at end of summer 2009
Garden as at end June 2010
Whilst it may not be perfect, it was all my own work which was very satisfying and saved a lot of expense
Yeah they are heavy duty shelf brackets from Wickes.
They are stronger than they look :D
They have been well and truly load tested both this and last summer.
I had them all apart recently to beef up the benches and there was nothing untoward to report.
The instructions are HERE although there are some discrepancies between this and info on the product page. I used a single coat of 12mm (using 12mm edge beading) and didn't scrape it. It has a lovely smooth finish that doesn't show any signs of coming away from the blockwork. I think you have to...
K-rend is one coat upto about 10-12mm. If you need a thicker coat then it is recommended to go for 2.
It is a colour through mix so doesn't require painting.
For the small quantity I needed it worked out about £10 per bag which will cover approx. 1m/sq
From what I have read - an alternative to oil in the first year is Seasonite but it is quite expensive even more so than oil. Oil is then used for all subsequent applications. This is from information from various sources not just in UK but USA and Australia.
It maybe a bit old fashioned but I wouldn't consider herbicidal chemicals a good idea before planting a lawn. When I did a similar thing I turned the top 6"-8" inches over then raked and levelled.
Harder work but worth it in the long run.
