Yes the dpc has been removed as it was full of rubble etc in cavity and tray installed now with the easy lead used to bridge the gap where the tray didn’t quite meet the inner leaf
Hope I don’t have any problems going forward
Thanks for the reply. It’s a retrofit type e tray
And one end it’s touching the inner leaf of brick but the other end due to my inner wall being uneven there is a few cm gap(hence my fingers behind the tray). He has fit someThing called easy lead adhesive tape which is moisture resistant to...
Hi I need some help please
About a month ago I asked for some advice on why I was getting water marks on my plasterboard above bifold door (not huge amounts).
I was advised on this forum to check the cavity tray and it hasn’t been installed on this south facing wall but a dpc was used above...
Thanks
We have tried sealing late last year in few places with ct1 but like you say I don’t think the installation is correct if any
Il wait for the bricklayer to come next month or so and take it from there
Are we talking a lot of money for the cavity trays
Iv heard about cavitytrayman who...
Images at the back of the house,
Bifold door kitchen window and utility on sise
Of house. Weep vents are present at ground level. Just no idea. Appear to be decently sealed
I will try getting a couple of photos tonight certainly ground level and my sons room is also affected too (all south facing)
I do agree at the front my windows are fitted in deeper if that makes sense and at the back they’re not I’m unsure why.
Thanks alot for the advice. I have asked a bricklayer to pop down and check the cavity trays when the weather picks up after removing a couple of bricks
My fear is someone else installing them incorrectly again. I honestly think either my bricks are porous or incorrectly installed or CT not...
Sorry not sealant I meant water sealant like stormdry
To be honest financially we’re still recovering from the build from two years ago and rectifying problems. Fed up is not the word
Guess because there was a lintel above bifold door
The weepholes are high I agree above the door but only one brick high above kitchen window which has also got water spots
Is there any easy fix to this other than sealant? Or is it a window / door installation issue. I am racking my brains...
Truthfully the builder didn’t install doors and windows another rexternal
Person did. So if you’re saying they have to be set back to 70mm? And that’s why in heavy ish rain water is tracking back? I’m sorry if I’m asking so many questions this is not my area at all
And I feel like between the...
Hi again,
Again I’m after advice pls. Looking at the doors and windows they are about 40cm set back from the brick face. Obviously older window Frames Might have been deeper? But without mounting up costs I just want to resolve this as builder has done shoddy work despite
Not being cheap...
