    That would be my second question. What is the consequence of L1 and L2 being mixed up? Does it make any difference?

    I Have a 2 way switch with the terminals marked as numbers 1, 2 and 3:- 1 (with the writing "common" next to it) 2 (with the writing "way" next to it) 3 (on its own) Does anyone know how this numbering translates the modern convention of COM, L1 and L2. Obviously 1 is COM. Thanks.
