TV mount on plasterboard wall with bricks behind

Alright thanks everyone, got the message. Will buy the corefix thingies. Also means I can do this later and don't have to think about this before plastering/decorating so kind of even better anyways.

TV mount on plasterboard wall with bricks behind

The situation is the following: I've got plasterboard (really thin one, 9.5mm) on a brick wall (not dot and dab but with battens), so the plasterboard is 22mm off the wall. Now I want to attach a TV mount, probably this one (not purchased yet but that's the one in basket)...

Bricks on top of wall at the side of the roof

Thank you both! Gone they will be soon. See #3, I just want to make it a bit "nicer", maybe turn it into a "hobby room" - not for regular use and as an official used space but for example sometimes when both me and the missus have calls one of us (i.e., I) can escape up there. Obviously not in...

Bricks on top of wall at the side of the roof

No one? I circled what I'm talking about - I just want to know what those bricks are, why they are there, and if they're better to be removed (for more ventilation/airflow) or if they serve a purpose and should stay.

Bricks on top of wall at the side of the roof

Because I want to put something (like PVC cladding or plasterboard or so, we're still shopping around) on the rafters to make the loft look a bit nicer (no, we're not doing a full-on loft extension to turn it into a living room). Anyways, the question was about the bricks and if I should/can...

Bricks on top of wall at the side of the roof

Picture to illustrate what I'm talking about: There's a line of bricks on top of the wall just at the side of the roof. I had a couple of roofers in to inquire about ventilation (another thread/discussion - one said I don't need to, one said I need ridge vents AND tile vents), and while they...

    Thermostat Advice

The Wiser backplate did indeed have an earth tether. All connected, was super easy to set up. Now will wait for plumber to install the smart TRVs (not touching that). But system seems to be working well, so much better to be able to control heating via app! Case (thread) closed :) Thanks for all...

    Roof ventilation

Yeah I plan to put on foil tape, it was a good hint by one of the roofers. One plan is to just go ahead for now as is, and then on a really rainy day when humidity is crazy high remove one of the insulation boards to check what it looks like behind, basically a visual inspection to see if we...

    Roof ventilation

Just normal concrete tiles I guess. What are lap vents? Something like tile vents? I Googled but the results look strange to me, no clue what that is :) Thanks for the regulation links! Yeah I know the min gap is 25mm but I don't feel I need to overdo it, I'm fine with 50mm insulation and then...

    Window partial replacement

Okay cheers. Will get some local guys then to come over for quote of glass+hinge+handle replacement, thanks.

    Window partial replacement

Is it possible to buy an entire new "top opener", so we can trickle vents?

    Thermostat Advice

I don't think there's a terminal under the wire, they're just twisted together and connected. It's just the ground wires as you can see by the colours.

    Thermostat Advice

Cheers, thank you very much! Do you think this is a DIY job (fitting the thermostat, not the TRV obviously)? I have no rush installing the TRVs, but the plumber is only coming around on the 19th for something else, and I don't want to have the thing lying around for that long... plus if he has...

    Roof ventilation

So, moved in about half a year ago, boarding the loft right now. I plan on putting Kingspan in between the rafters, and I wonder... do I need ventilation, and if so which one. Here's a pic of the loft: Close-up of the eaves: And a pic from outside to see soffits: Now to say this...

    Thermostat Advice

So, been putting this off for a while due to choice paralysis. Got a ProCombi 30 Exclusive boiler with a Salus RT500RF. Programming that requires 5 minute of cumbersome button smashing. Want something more modern: Something easier to program/re-program for our schedules. Ability to turn on/off...
