    The plaster had 3 months before the use by date, so that wasn't an issue, but I am beginning to wander if one of the bags was corrupted.

    No, I only ever pva the ceilings first, and as this one was on new plasterboard there was no need for any pva.

    There was definitely nothing wrong with the plastering, my plastering is always smooth, and I have hundreds of happy customers.     The paint appears streaky, this is where the paint is rough to the touch and looks like sandpaper, it's as if the ceiling sucked all the moisture out of the paint. This ceiling has had 6 coats of paint using 15 litres
