By the way, when I said it trips out, the pump is still working, but the hot water/heating are no longer hot.

I have a problem with the above combi boiler. Basically the system keeps tripping out when on for about 5 mins and we have to reset it by turning the main switch on and off again. Last night the system seemed very reluctant to re-ignite - you could sometimes hear the ticking noise which I assume...
