Yes he said it would be installed where the current one is. The 21 way is a MK 21 usable way, that's all he told me, though he is coming back to talk about the design of the circuit again.

We will be getting a brand new consumer unit john, we would never keep that old thing. Yes the earth is staked outside, but we are running 2 10mm earth cables in for that.

Hopefully someone may be able to tell me if I do indeed need an isolation switch fitted or if what is there is in fact ok. Many thanks guys
