Hi meldrew's_mate,
No the boiler is behaving normally it's only the pump. When the programmer is on off position, the pump circulate cold water ...
The motorised valve is a 2 port one.
Thanks

Is this some kind of airlock ?
I had some trouble yesterday refilling mine - it took a long time. I manage to speed it up by bleeding radiator to let air escaping. I realised that I have a aerject valve that seem to slow down the refilling process.

Hello,
After some acrobatic exercises, I managed to follow the pump and boiler wires: The pump is not connected directly to the boiler but to a white box well hidden (not accessible unless I cut another bit of floorboard).
It looks like the wire from programmer is going to this white box...
Thanks for your fast replies. The boiler is called "Ideal Mexico".
I know that has been a reccurent problem with the motorised valve stuck and the CH system not switching on - I feel that the problem is now reversed !
The system is old and I don't think it has ever been cleaned before and...
Hi There,
I have a programer that is controlling HW or HW+CH. It was working fine until one day: the pump stays on all the time and I have to switch off the main to turn it off (switching the programer on OFF position is not switching off the pump as it used to do).
I tried to follow the...
Sorry for the confusion:
I tried two things (the GCH was off at all time):
1)
- turned off main water supply
- drained: very low pressure, got only about 5 l then stops, clear water.
2)
- turned on main water supply (I heard the system filling up but not via the attic cold water...
Thanks for the quick reply. But if the feed pipe were blocked I would have an empty system at present (or at least partially) ?
I did drain it while the main water supply was off, but it refilled as soon as I turned on the water supply again.
And the cold water tank in the attic did not...
Hi There,
My radiators are not very efficient and I suspect that the GCH system is full of sludge and/or air and need to be flushed and/or treated.
The boiler is Ideal Mexico type and I have 2 cold-water tanks in the attic one for the hot water tank and another one for ... I thought the...
