Am I correct in assuming that the black plastic 3 way valve doesn't normally have water circulating round it? I'm thinking some sort of pressure on the pin in the hydroblock selects the water passages behind and is activated by the 3 way valve?
Could still do with the nod on whether water...

However, my question is - IF I remove the 3 way valve [ clip / electric connector ] will water come out from connector behind? Or do I need to drain the boiler down first?
Second - I realise that something is causing the fuses to blow - that's when I spotted...
