Thnx for the reply, unfortunately the way the gate opens means the strip wld be on the outside of the gate, if fixed on the inside it'd stop us getn in lol i posted this on roofing/rhones by mistake and hv had a few replies on the general diy forum too so thnx to all who replied i'll try thm all...

Thanks very much for the replies, think the surface bolt sounds like the ideal solution to my prob as theres not alot of room between the gate and the wall......yeh John the guy didnt give it alot of thought, its a shame though as the rest of the job was fantastic :)
