No Hot water - Please help!!

An identical sunvic sd 2751 actuator will set me back £110 which I will have to try and fit myself. I have been quoted aprox £150 to come a fit a honeywell from a heating engineer. Any suggestions on which way to go? The fitting of the new actuator seems quite straight forward. I fit it...

No Hot water - Please help!!

thanks Mick. I did not look at the bottom of the device as I was watching the motor itself which did nothing when I alternated the hot water and radiators on and off. Unfortunately one of the wires snapped off the motor when I was trying to disconnect it so I can not put it back together to...

No Hot water - Please help!!

So take off the white box - do i need to shut off water or electrics to do this? also you say watch the valve when you operate it. So do you mean I can turn the heating on while the top is off to see what it is doing? What is the fused spur?

No Hot water - Please help!!

The valve has SUNVIC on the top and is a 3 port valve. As posted above I did originally hear a clicking noise which has now stopped. Is the likely to be the motor? Is this something I can do my self, or should I be getting someone in?

Thanks for your reply. The hot water is on and the heating is off - The pipe which comes out of the cylinder is warm, however the pipe on the other side is very hot. The radiators are also on full whack!

No Hot water - Please help!!

Hi We have a problem with our heating system. At present we are only getting luke warm water. The central heating has timers for both the radiators and hot water. When the timer comes on for the hot water the radiators come on. I assume this is a problem with the valve? There was a...

Mick, thanks for your response. No i do not believe this has been checked. I have a engineer attending on Thursday. Is this a straight forward job to repair if this is the problem?

    Banging boiler - cooling radiators

I have Glowworm Energy saver 40e (Conventional Boiler) which has been making really loud banging noises for the past year. After replacing the pump which did not solve the problem I was informed by a corgi engineer that the banging in the boiler was being caused by sludge in the system. I...

    Banging Boiler

yes he was corgi reg. I have cover with my bank for boiler repairs and parts. The first lad they sent was going to change the heat exchanger, however when the man came out the following day he said this would make no difference as I needed a power flush!

    Banging Boiler

Many Thanks. Anyone who can confirm that this blue spark I am seeing is not about to blow my house up, would put my mind at rest. Also why I am now experiencing a drip from the overflow. Both ball cocks are fine?

    Banging Boiler

Many Thanks I will try that. Yes there is black sediment when I drain the system. How do I put the sentimal x400 in. Does it go in the expansion tank once the system is drained? Failing a chemical clean, what would you suggest?

    Banging Boiler

I have a Glow Worm Energysaver 40e boiler which is approximately 9years old. A couple of months ago we started experiencing a loud banging noise from the boiler. When I lifted the front cover off I was quite disturbed to see when the banging noise happens a blue spark occurs at the bottom left...
