    Pressure Reducing Valves

For now, we're just using mains as the well is almost dry, but after some decent rain, we'll put the well up to 3.5 bar and see if it comes through. Presumably the pressure behind the PRV has some effect? Imagine it were only 3.5 bar, and the PRV were set to 3. When flow starts there is...

    Pressure Reducing Valves

I understand, but my point is that the two pressures would need to be almost EXACTLY the same for a mixed flow to occur, no? I suspect that the well is arriving at say 2.8 and the mains at 3.1, or something like that. Above is a picture of where the 2 supplies enter the house, well...

    Pressure Reducing Valves

Thanks for the explanation. In fact, we installed complete new arrival plumbing inside the house. The mains and the well supplies arrive next to each other, and each has it's own shut off valve and non-return valve. The well pump is on and set to 3 bar (at the well head, which is 80m away)...

Siemens Fan Oven - no Fan!

We have a Siemens oven, about 3 years old, and the fan no longer spins when set to 'fan oven'. We also have an older (about 10 years) Neff oven with the exact same problem. I have basic DIY/electrical skills, and wondered if anyone has any experience with this problem, which seems to be...

Which ASHP brand to go with...

We installed one of these recently, about 9kW I think it was; http://www.sdeec.fr/sdeec-V2-english/heat-pumps-rm-55-sdeec-french-manufacturer-of-heat-pumps.html I'm sure there must be a UK distributor somewhere. It's a military company that supplies massive heat pumps to the army...

    Pressure Reducing Valves

Thanks for the reply. We could not install at the house end, as the piping was arriving in 40mm, then 2 metres of 32mm, then no space in the inside cupboard. A 32mm PRV was quoted to me at £400!! The 25mm was £80. I realise that dynamic pressure may differ, but I was under the...

    Pressure Reducing Valves

We have just installed a new mains water pipe to our house, as we have been on well water up to now and it's run dry(ish)!. The run is 300m, and we have used 40mm PE pipe. Upon connection at the house we measured 5 bar, far more than I was expecting, so we installed a PRV up at the road...

Help with a Videx GSM Intercom gate opener

Just to conclude this thread - I should have wired into posts 5 and 6, not 9 and 10. Had to get the Daitem man round to breathe life back into the Daitem which had gone into shutdown mode, and then all was well. Videx works great now. Thanks for help.

Help with a Videx GSM Intercom gate opener

Thanks again. Wired it up today, but no joy. Here's what I did; 1. Connected my green and yellow wires to C and NC on the Videx. Then connected them up to the Daitem where you see the green and yellow (posts 9 and 10). Just doing this triggered the gate to shut, then whilst getting the...

Help with a Videx GSM Intercom gate opener

This is a photo of the business part of the Daitem. For the lower row; From left; Blue/black = input power (seems to be 15V AC, odd?) Red/black = unit power = 13.8V DC small brown/grey = power for keypad etc was taken off here small red/white = not sure small green/yellow = think...

Help with a Videx GSM Intercom gate opener

Basically, the old Daitem RF and keypad system has died and we needed a new way to control the gates, so we got the Videx. The range was extreme at 300m, so GSM seemed the way to go. The remote fobs do still work; 0 opens and closes, and 1 just opens (then push again to close). So the...

Help with a Videx GSM Intercom gate opener

Excellent thankyou. I have no idea what it's set to, so I suppose I'll just have to experiment with different relay times to see what happens. if it is on 'auto' and it gets the single pulse, do you think it would open and close or just open?
