    Polypipe Heat Recovery filters?

Thanks. If it uses more electric for the same amount of air that is fine with me.

    Polypipe Heat Recovery filters?

In the cooker hood it was the circular carbon filters, model WPRO Type 145. However, for the heat exchanger I am not sure what material they are made from. This is the original, but the replacements look like a more dense material.

    Polypipe Heat Recovery filters?

Does the choice of Filter on a heat exchange system affect how much air can go through the system? I am probably going to have some filters made for the Poplypipe HR01-W System. The originals are almost see through when I hold them up to the light, whereas the ones advertised as M5, G4 etc. seem...

Replacement cooker hood filter reducing airflow

Yes, I was about to say that. II bought a heating element for an oven from one spares company which had listed it as the correct part when it wasn't. They only removed the model number from their compatible list when ebay refunded me. They had the nerve to tell me to modify it to make it fit...

Replacement cooker hood filter reducing airflow

Seems like it will fall out. Well, this is what I needed to know. In my ignorance I thought it might not be good for what seems like a powerful fan unit. I'll see how it performs when cooking and go for the other type if I need to.

Replacement cooker hood filter reducing airflow

Thanks. If I had known the grease filter reduced the airflow I would have gone with the ones in the photo above as I cannot filter outside in the flat I am in. Yes, I cleaned the aluminium section recently. I might get third party ones the next time.

Replacement cooker hood filter reducing airflow

I bought a WPRO Type 145 cooker hood filter from espares. The new filter has a thin paper material over one side of the filter, and the airflow is drastically reduced from what it was with the original filter that came with the unit. Is this a bad thing? It feels to me on the exhaust vents at...

Leaking bathroom mixer tap - how to disassemble?

Thanks, boiling water done the trick. Somehow I managed to touch the tap after pouring boiling water on it despite the warning. :giggle: No third party cartridges for the Hansgrohe tap cartridge though 92730000. Got the original at Screwfix.

Leaking bathroom mixer tap - how to disassemble?

I have a leaking mixer tap in the bathroom with water coming from below the handle. I need to take it apart. It is possible to turn the nut with an allen key clockwise or counter-clockwise, but the tap handle does not come off. The screw does not come out of the hole either despite rotating it...

Fixing wardrobe to hollow / stud wall?

Oh well. I'll look for the plans I got of the flat when I moved in.

Fixing wardrobe to hollow / stud wall?

I need to fix an open wardrobe to a wall. One side will be in a corner and there seems to be a stud wall of some sort in this corner. Using a magnet I get a strong pull about 8 inches from the ceiling, then again about 10ins down, then again about 11ins down. Could this be a wooden stud wall...

Cleaning concrete dust from fan blades in A/C unit

Just an update on this for anyone who needs to clean concrete dust off of plastic. I found warm water and washing up liquid really got rid of it quite easily - I had used old toothbrushes and a "spout cleaner" from Robert Dyas for the harder to reach parts. I had first of all tried white vinegar...

Cleaning concrete dust from fan blades in A/C unit

Thanks guys. I have made up my mind that I will take it apart when I get the time. I will probably try 99% alcohol as a first resort. When I said I doubted compressed air would work above - I was talking about the spray cans for home use as someone mentioned above. In any case I am concerned a...

Cleaning concrete dust from fan blades in A/C unit

Thanks for the suggestions. Washing up liquid didn't have much of an effect when I tried it a few days ago. I can try compressed air, but I suspect it will be the same. The dirt that is there seems to be ingrained enough that it won't shift even with rigorous brushing, but when the fan is...

Cleaning concrete dust from fan blades in A/C unit

It's a good idea. The thing is I am not going to hike the unit there as I have no car. If I start to take it apart to get to the fan blades I have the trouble of dismantling and detaching the motor, the shaft, the plastic casing and the screws that attach the unit to the body. I could probably...
