    Bilge Pump Pressure

bowlingo, you're drip-feeding the forum with a load of questions, each related to the other. How about you outline the whole design (and be willing to redesign the thing if necessary) so that we've half a chance of seeing the whole picture, and giving appropriate advice to you.

    Vaillant VR Dialog

I found http://www.ab-log.ru/smart-house/heating-automation/vaillant-rs232 http://www.ab-log.ru/files/Image/heat/eBusConverter.gif This suggests that ebus is some sort of serial, but at TTL levels, thus requiring a TTL to rs-232 converter (MAX232) and a comparator. I presume the "just like a...

    Ferroli 102 "lock out"

well indeed. The damned thing was here when I bought the house, and to be fair I'm trying to wring as much life out of it as possible. It's only cost me 20 quid in parts, and a few hours of my time sofar, which is a pretty good deal compared with fixing it properly with a large hammer, repiping...

    Franke sink and plumbing kit

Is that wee bit of chrome we can see the overflow? If so, the flexi from it connects to the LHS strainer you have there on the side, probably on the RHS sink. Once you've the strainers in, play the rest by ear, given the differing heights of the two sink parts. Black washers appear to be for the...

    Ferroli 102 "lock out"

I found the thermistors dead easy to swap (and only a few quid on ebay), make sure to lock the CH & cold water feed circuits off if you're going to do it yourself & power off the boiler. Tips: Couple of terry nappies or an old towel or two over the back of the circuit box to keep it dry. I...

    Ferroli 102 "lock out"

I replaced the 2 thermistors on mine, and it solved a very similar sounding problem. I did also reflow the circuit board, and swap the NO and NC relays over subsequently to solve the "looks like it's firing, but nothing happens unless you belt it" problem.

    Moving virgin/telewest cables

Which is a fully shielded co-axial cable, albeit with a pair of conductors. My understanding of twinax is that the centre conductors aren't twisted though. At getting up that high, one starts talking about waveguides, and find that because the skin depth is so small, the stuff's generally...

    Moving virgin/telewest cables

A: I never said they weren't, but a fully shielded coaxial cable was the first copper option for 10GE, (CX4), and 10G over twisted pair took years longer. Copper 40G is co-ax too (but that's cheating as it's really 4 10G links aggregated). B: Quite correct, I was loose in my terminology. The...

    Moving virgin/telewest cables

I beg to differ. Even the very most expensive cat7 cabling can't be used to distribute satellite signals, where properly screened coax can...
