Thanks for the response
So just to clarify,
the downlights are on a rcbo
and the shaver socket/underfloor heating is on the rcd side of the CU
So thats the 'final circuits' protected i presume?
Then the bonding,
The cold water pipe into the house has what looks to be a 10mm2...
Nope, BUT, boiler had a faulty pump when up and running and vaillant had to come and fix it, engineer said its fine he didn't fill it in a lot of people don't my warranty is still fine!
I did ask him to come and fill it in but he said no one will ever ask to see it so its pointless lol!
When we installed our new bathroom we took the bonding off the sink and bath taps, my question is should I replace these?
OR
We had a new boiler/full central heating installed at the same time, the fitter told us we didn't need to have any of the pipes/radiators bonded as our CU has an...
We had our new (none fitted previously) central heating installed end of Jan, and were still waiting for the building regs cert from gas safe, how long should it take? Does anyone know?
Strange i was just about to ask roughly the same question,
I'm installing lights ip44 near zone 1 and my lighting circuits aren't on the RCD, can i have a spark change thevother half of my split load CU put on a seperate 30ma rcd?
were having a semi refurb now lol, just not touching the kitchen its the only part thats new! typical i guess! oh and i suppose sockets clipped to the wall 1 cm off the floor isn't a very good idea just found 2 of them?! I'd love to know who did the wiring on my house!
ill just take the old...
I went to add a double socket spur into my upstairs ring main earlier and have just discovered I have 1 switch in the cu for 1 double socket downstairs (no idea why), and then the hob/cooker is on another. But everything else is on the 1 32A 2.5mm ring main! Thats 12 single sockets and 8...
the shaver socket is 3A but through an rcd which is it on the cu!
the u/f heating is 30ma rcd (at cu again) and 2.4 amp draw at most i think! hence the 3A fuse, if i'm wrong though and it is 5A 1.5mm is still easily capable! I don't have the instructions to hand at the moment to double check...
I was going to finish this of this evening if someone could just confirm its ok?
4.0mm into the 2 spurs then 1.5mm from the fused spurs to the accessories and change the 16A mcb to a 10A mcb?
Missed the second responce while i was typing!
So in theory i can leave the 16A mcb in because the 1.5mm would be protected by the spur fuses
So
run 4mm to one fused spur then to the next, and I can keep my 1.5mm from the switched side of each spur to the relevant device?
Does it matter if they are fused spurs? I thought that with it being a fused spur then thats its protection, i think i missed that bit off sorry!
I don't mind having it checked etc hence why I'm trying to do it right then ring my electrician to come and double check it for me etc!
Whats...
