    Hi, It is still intact but blackened a little and there is blackening around the plastic casing. However, my heating has started to work again. Strange? It says R28. The resistors to the left are the same size and colour.

    Thank you for the quick replies. There doesn't appear to be any surge protection on the outside of the boiler. It looks like the power to the boiler is coming directly from the mains. :shock: This cannot be right? Could this be the cause of the problem? ...it appears that diode had blown...
