On most boilers there is a trap inside the boiler.......

Turn the water off outside your house, usualy near your gate, and replace the stoptap....

Ok pop down to your local diy store and pick up a bleed key.....then bleed the air out of the rads...... Remember if air comes out then water will need to be put back into the system..... This is not difficult... Before you bleed the radiators look at your boiler....you should see a pressure...

Bleed the air from the half hot radiator And from the cold one i would imagine And then look up "balancing"

Do you mean that both pipes going into and out of your cold radiator are hot yet the rad is cold? Sounds like they are both "flow" pipes.....both trying to push hot water in from both sides.... Has that rad ever worked?

And how was that gas check? Just because you can install the stuff it doesnt mean you know how to fix it...safely......

Thanks Hugh....yes i did make them stop using it...... but after the firm came out again and charged them for doing something i think should of been done in the first place, they said it was safe for use.... I still disagree but i am not an expert......this is why i am trying to find an...

Thanks happyplumber That sounds about right, stepson had a new bathroom fitted about a month ago that coincides with his problem starting.......probaly shook the pipes around and some crud has gotten in there....or just coincidence... Plus the fact of hard water....... Thanks...
