    I’m going to lift the slabs below and make a little area for my son to play in but want to be able to utilise the wall for fixing things and for him avoiding the stones etc if he ever fell. I like that idea re fence. I may just buy large pieces of plywood and butt them up together though...

    Good point. If I can get away with sheeting over the top I will but am worried about it being uneven and not secure against the stones of the roughcast

    I was only going to get a 25kg bag which says it gives 3mm thick for 6m2 floor area. Can always get another bag(s) if necessary. Would this be needed? Had been mentioned to me before that I should use a primer hence the reason I ask. Thanks
