Yes done, that is the wall facing the living room where the socket is going. I went over the door as in one of your suggestions
Thanks for all the help. Will wire it in tommorow we ran out of time
Well that was very confusing stud finder found no studs but I could tell by tapping different tones all along so I drilled a pilot hole and tried to push a stick through. Got stuck left got stick right hmm. Just went for it because it’s getting late. It’s made out of cardboard
Just thinking how to do this, makes sense to me but picturing it in my head is hurting. Maybe using wagos?
Or I’ve been wasting for an excuse to by one of those quick wire things lol. But don’t know how I’d burry that in the wall.
The plater wall down the side is 68mm thick. I imagine plaster board is around 15mm? So that leaves 28mm cavity?
Going to find a paper clip and drill a hole to find thickness, if it’s 10mm a 35mm dry lining box might fit
Hmmm another good idea. While I’ve worked a lot of things I’ve never ran cable behind walls before.
. Yeah didn’t think about that either.
Really appreciate these ideas guys never thought about them
So you think I can fit a sunken Patrice box in there? It looks maybe 30mm thick but I will get a proper measurement. That’s just eyeball.
i I can absolutely channel all the way around . So I think you are saying that ‘wall’ under the stairs is basically two sheets of plaster and some wood...
Hi, so my daughter wanted a socket in the living room on the side of the stairs no problem I says hmm , but it’s not built how I imagined and the floor is concrete.
I’ve chased a channel from the nearest socket and fed a cable through trunking to the under stairs back wall dot and dab ( it...
ok she’s now gone and bought dimmers for the living room. Looks like the common is in the middle of l1 and 2 in new switch so I need to get a longer bit of wire to connect the commons
Yellow one side, blue the other. One red on one side one red on the other? Don’t know I’m baffled by this one
Back of upstairs switch
Looks like I just put the single red in common and the other two l1 and l2.
Downstairs I put blue as L1. But it’s my understanding it’s not important just getting common correct is
Yes I have earthed it
New switch ready to be fitted, I’ve been gradually earthing everything as none of the od metal back boxes were earthed or wires tight either. I’ll take this out though and just feed earth wire straight into the plate as it’s a plastic Patrice box
