Newbie needs soem help please... i got a shower wall plate with shower diverter knob at top and thermostat knob below.
The thermostat knob is dripping..... I took off the knob and can see the head of the thermostat cartrdige. I dont know the brand and it's not on the plate as fitted 12yrs...
is the musty smell ok for health (till I can sort the permanent solution)...just thinking of rest of the family and kids etc.... as I now have the side panel off and we can now smell that damp
oh :-) Grateful for the feedback but i think that will be beyond my limited DIY.... I'm think of giving it a clean to buy me some time then i might need to call someone. I have a dehumidifier. Is it worth me putting that on in the bathroom and leaving it to run several hours in the daytime?

The plastic bath panel was loose for years i.e. had some gaps with no sealant. I took that for granted not realising how much of a problem it would be later on. It seems when the shower was used some of the shower spray run down the side and was soaking up some of the joists of the wood...
Tried 2 and 3 no grub screw there. Trying to pull the knob off, not successful yet, may try prising off with a screwdriver to get some leverage.
I noticed if i pull the knob then turn i can get some resistance and get the shower to turn on and off..
What could have happened behind the knob...

I have a showier diverter valve on the wall for the shower. It ha 2 chrome dials - the top one is one and off and is a selector for either the showier hose or the fixed ceiling shower head. The dial below rotates for hot or cold.
The top dial is now spinning freely - albeit i can just...
Is it easy or problematic to get laminate flooring off and put it back again, i.e. take off some laminate get to floorboards and put that same laminate flooring back again after wards?
