    Fascia and soffits painting

Thanks aveatry, you're right about the effort required, but the weather in my part of the uk (west Scotland) has taken a hell of a toll on every painted or stained surface over the past few years. Paint you would have expected to last, sadly hasn't.

    Fascia and soffits painting

Thanks Wayners, never heard of Bradite, but looking it up it looks the way to go. Saves a lot of time and effort, also not important to me if finish isn't gloss as long as it looks good, .....cheers.

    Fascia and soffits painting

Hi guys, a few years back I took advice here re painting old solid wood F&S on my 1930s bungalow, which involved 2 coats trade undercoat and 2 coats white exterior gloss. I believe both were Leyland Trade. I'm back 4 or 5 years on and the white wood is sound but in need of washing down and...

Disconnected cable inside garage fuse box

Hi all, here is 2 better photos of the wiring at the top of the consumer unit. (including my shoes!) Disconnected cable inside garage fuse box

There is no gland etc that I can see, the armoured cable just comes through the old concrete wall about 2 feet from the consumer unit. It has then been stripped down to the inner sheath from there, and then stripped to expose the cables that enter the consumer unit.

Hi guys, I have a garage fuse box installed a few years back by a qualified electrician with a 3 core cable from the house consumer unit. All has been ok and working as it should until today when I was moving some boxes and inadvertently pulled the 3 core. The 3 core cable has brown, grey and...
