turn the key engine fires then cuts out and not able to start the engine , leave it a while and it starts runs fine , then a couple of days later the same problem . any ideas ? ........

johnnie are you sure your not 180 degree out on the timeing . make sure you,ve got TDC by taking No 1 glow plug out and feeling for the piston with a bit of stiff wire . as the bottom pulley can delaminate and give a wrong setting if its slipped round . did you turn the notch on the pump to T...

you know im proberly going to get shot down for this , but what i would be tempted to do is bleed the system up to the bango bolt on the pump then start it on easy start , giving it just enough to make it run . :evil:

to check the CV joint put a full left hand lock on and reverse in a circle. do the same on the other lock , you should be able to hear the CV that has gone . packing with grease wont help if its gone . it needs replacing.

Im not sure about the peugeot , but on a vectra i had their was a senser behind the front bumper , around the number plate area if i rember right , might be worth a look .
