Hi can I just ask you...what exactly would warrant the laying of roof felt?...What type of problems might i be experienceing for this to be a recommended course of action? I am going to get the roofer back to check the fall etc of the guttering, but if he is insistant that the problem is it...

i paid £400 and no scaffolding was used. I am sure they are wood, but whether they're lead lined i dunno.....

Would it help if i said that water is not running down the walls in the rooms, but is dripping from where the window frame meets the plastered recess into which the window's fitted. I believe cavity wall insulation was inserted 4 years ago.

Would this prevent water going into the cavity if this is what's causing the water to come into the rooms?

I don't know if the roof is felted, my neighbour says she thinks these aren't. If it is not felted is this the problem? and would it cost a fortune to have this done, if so are there any alternatives to having it all felted? I really appreciate any advice given. Taz

hi, yes the sealants fine. All the pointing is new, i just cannot see how its getting in

how is the rain dripping inside the rooms at the top of the window frames? My neighbour says it must be getting between the wall cavity and running down.....do you think this is the case? thanks again for your kindness in replying.

Thanks for your reply... I was the first to have the guttering replaced. The day after the roofer did the RHS next door..I guess if the street slopes it would be from left to right downwrds. The other neighbours guttering on the LHS has not replaced the guttering on theirs.
