Hi ! Now it's my turn- sorry for the late reply- had a busy time. Mind you- spiced up a bit with a great carvery meal out :D Thanks- that information gives me a good guide, really it's a good help. I'd rather try flushing than stripping out any more, that would entail taking off a...

    Chainsaw Prob,

I guess the sound of silence means no guesses, or else nobody knows. What what!- I am good with mechanics but didn't want to strip the equipment any further than at present. I don't have an air pressure setup to try blowing out the blockage. Cheers for any ideas. Do I get out the...

    Replacing hall doors

Hi again gregers, No- thats a very good idea- to get the door glass covered in safety film . Many thanks, that appears to be the answer. I had once heard of that stuff many years ago,but it must have dropped out of my head- the way my hair is going. All the best. That will do fine...

    Replacing hall doors

Hi .Greg. That's an idea, I admitt to having toyed with the possibility. I would have to 'drop in' a panel of something strongish and not too heavy. I suppose they don't make any good looking material for this type job ? I could go for new doors like 'composition' or something- white...

    Replacing hall doors

Hi all, We have full glass danger doors in the hall, two standard with the middle. cut out and replaced with glass. A third I made as a folding door using two redundant ones from the kitchen- with two narrower same glass panels, hung at the top only. The front hall door is also a full glass...

Hi again guys, Sorry for the delay in replying- had to jump ship last night. First- Ricicle- the existing switch and machine HAS got an earth, this is the old single bare thickish earth wire- which I didnt put in. It goes to the water pipe which enters the ground a foot downwards and runs...

    Bonding a washing m/c.

Hi guys, I want to get a switch ready fo a new washing m/c, as our old one is finished. The bonding is a puzzle to me- but I intend to run a bond earth wire to the washer direct from the cold copper pipe. Also run a bond earth from this pipe to the double pole switch -(as this has no earth as...

    woodworm problem

Hi Lesley, I think the worm/beetles are active May-July and if there is no sign of wood dust then don't worry- just keep a look out. They are likely long gone and no threat. It is a different type in hardwood usually than in softwood. Hope this helps.
