since learned that the wall should not be painted as it’s trapping moisture. Been using a scraper to remove by hand but it’s a slow process and some parts are difficult/impossible to remove. Any suggestions to speed up the process?

I’ve lived here for 2 years and it’s been fine until now. Yes will likely need to. Just wanted to know if gutters can be damaged without it being obvious I.e I can’t see water running down the wall when it rains.
