Why would it be overheating then. Would this be air in the system.

I'm not sure off the model is old though. You say it could be overheating wouldn,t it fire up again once the temperture had fallen though. I don't think is an air lock as both the flow and return pipes to the boiler are hot when the boiler is on.

Hey I have a boiler that is fireing up getting to temperture and getting all the radiators hot then goin off. It then won't comes back on again unless you press the reset button anyone no what could be wrong with it?

Thanks dextrous so to flush through the FE cistern do I let the system fill up til the cistern stops filling ( with the rads shut) then open drain off and repeat til water at drain off becomes clearer? Thanks for your help so far

Thanks how much are the bungs do u no? Could I alternativly just flush out through the FE system. Just letting the system fill through this then drain off repeating this a few times?

Thanks I ve got the system drain at moment so mite change it for the sake of an hour or so's work doesn't a 1600 P plus, 1800 double and a 400 double sound alot of 15 mm ?

I'm planning on flushing it though with mains adapted by a hose. Theres no airing cupboard as the hot water is fed off an gas wall heated not a cylinder. The cold feed to the system exits the bottom of the tank then runs down a wall cavity I think so can't realy get to it to cap it

Thanks for your replys I have been up to look at the FE tank and seems like I will have a problem isolating the cold feed to the system it comes of the bottom of the tank then straight down out of the loft and runs in the wall of one of our bedrooms. Is the any way it can still be flushed...
