I meant the diameter as the toggle bolt (Screw) has to fit through the towel rail fitting

I ended up not bothering with the boiler at all and just powered the hive at the thermostat in the hall and swapped it out.. happy days :)

thanks.. I managed to get this done by just adding power to the thermostat area and connecting it up to the hive receiver.. now I have the hive receiver and the thermostat positioned alongside each other on the wall.. happy days :)

not sure the back plate of the towel rail has a 50mm hole though.. I'll need to check that.

I cant move it as the room as just been decorated with wall paper.. I'd rather use the same hole.

what about using Gripfill and putting the raw plug back in?

hi, I'm using 2 screw in metal raw plugs to hold my towel rail up.. unfortunetly, due to use, they have came loose from the wall and will no longer screw in as the plaster has came away from the hole.. is there anything I can put in these holes to firm and close up the holes so I can put the raw...

cheers.. I figured that out after reading some more.. I'll check out my options, but I know the thermostat option is out of the question unless I can get power up to that area (bigger job)

where are these 2 cable flex's going.. I understand 1 is a link back to the boiler, but the other one?

yes that's correct.. would I be best just installing the hive receiver at the boiler instead?

ok, I understand, so to confirm if I just replace the existing thermostat with the hive receiver I would need to somehow get 240v to it?

ah.. I'm trying to run it directly from the thermostat (ie use the wires and make the old thermostat redundant.. however, I only have 2 wires (Live and Y1)
