Leak from radiator valve with reducer on copper pipe

One question I should have asked. Would using PTFE tape work? If so, where would be the best place to place it? Cheers.

Leak from radiator valve with reducer on copper pipe

After isolating the water supply and reducing the pressure from the gas boiler, I did notice water in the pipe. How would I get rid of that? Would I have to drain all of the radiators? If I do go the solder route, I will practice first on scrap pipes. If removing the water is too much trouble...

Leak from radiator valve with reducer on copper pipe

OK. Thanks for the response. I will obviously need a 15mm olive. What would anyone recommend? Copper or brass? Cheers.

Leak from radiator valve with reducer on copper pipe

After some decorating and refitting the radiator, I have a tiny leak from a 10mm copper pipe with a reducer that has no olive. What would anyone recommend? Would this be suffice...

Leaking 15mm to 10mm internal reducer

After some decorating and refitting the radiator, I have a tiny leak from a 10mm copper pipe with a reducer that has no olive. What would anyone recommend? The solder ring reducer as posted in the links above? Never done that before. Cheers.

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

Thanks for the response. I ended up buying the tester I had after watching some YouTube videos from respected electricians like John Ward and one or two others. I won't be buying the T1000 for one off electrical work though. I have a resistor somewhere and will try with the meter. I assume I...

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

Hello, Strange today. I checked the voltage of a socket and the 400V reading I was getting before was not present today??? I did get some continuity though with N/L. There was some slight lighting of the tester with G and N/L as you can see from the video. I don't know if it made any difference...

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

I will take a photo tomorrow and report back. No I haven't got one. Would this blow say a lamp if there was voltage? Thanks for the responses.

    It's like a modern terrace.

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

But why am I getting any voltage reading with an isolated CU and when not isolated shows 230V?

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

Oh, I did that before. The same thing happens as I explained above.

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

Touching the two probes together alone - creates a beep/buzzer plus light to indicate continuity.

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

The continuity test - the light indicating continuity turns on and the buzzer sounds. The auto test button the light goes right up to 690 V. Cheers.

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

I am using this: https://www.test-meter.co.uk/voltage-testers/handyman-tek900-voltage-and-continuity-tester/ I did the standard isolation tests on the CU and sockets. I don't have any photo of what happened. At the CU the voltage when isolated was normal at 230V. When I turned on the CU and all...

    Isolated circuit showing 400V

Hello, I am a DIYer and in the process of fitting a spur from a socket (and from the ring). Using a voltage and continuity tester I turned off all the MCBs and RCBs plus the main switch in the Consumer Unit. I opened up and checked a plug socket and the ground with the line/neutral the volt and...
