have you tried looking at the air pressure switch tubing......may look in good condition but not holding suction and allowing pressure switch to fail...went out to one at christmas..potterton had changed pcb..gas valve and over heat stat...tubing looked in good condition but fell apart when...
is the property a bungalow..by any chance and is the new hot water tap lower than the take off in the immersion cylinder..........or is it level....how high is storage tank above immersion heater unit. :!:

try using a little SBR rom your builders merchants....lot better than unibond and not water based.....add a little portland cement and leave too dry.................guarantee you it will stick like the preverbule
