I couldn't get the bit out, but have managed to fix it! I turned the bottom part of the tap and the mechanism popped out, so I just screwed it back in from the inside! Thanks for the comments

I've had a look at handle and it looks pretty solid, not sure if any bits come off it? When I originally tried putting it back together, I couldn't screw the tap on as it just kept catching on the bit that turns the tap on and off. I just don't want to have to pay someone to fix it if I can do...

You can pull the screw out, and yes there is a thread inside the handle bit, the screw is really loose and just falls back inside if you let go. I just don't know how to get inside any more of the tap?

How do I remove the screw though? If you pull it, the head of the screw is inside so can't get it out? Is there a way of removing any more of the tap?
