Many thanks - Happy with the wiring as it was installed when the place was built. Consumer board been upgraded recently too. Socket is hard wired with flex so can fit junction box and 2 new sockets, good idea. It was the loading I was hoping someone would confirm but from what you are saying...

I'm thinking of installing 2 x 0.85kw storeage heaters in a room where I previously had 1 x 1.7kw heater. Am I right in thinking that the existing socket and wiring will safely run the two as the total kw is the same?
