    Baffle for boiler flue

Definitely no blockage above, Tony, I'm pretty sure it's from rain that lashes down at an angle when it's really windy. I read elsewhere about 30cm gaps, & I'll have a look at the MI tonight. If my 'shield' is at least that distance away from the flue, & was just a flat piece of something at...

    Baffle for boiler flue

My, you boys have been busy! Me too, as requested I've uploaded a couple of pics. In the rain this morning I couldn't get the angle quite right to show the slope. Hopefully one of these links will work:- //www.diynot.com/network/cdorling/albums/...

    Baffle for boiler flue

Thanks for all the comments. If I recall it was one iof the 1st condensers available, & I got some sort of BigGreen discount, probably to compensate for the neighbour who, not being used to condensing boilers, thought my house was on fire! I had to have the outside wall re pebbledashed 12...

    Baffle for boiler flue

It's an Ideal ICOS M3080, a few years old now, but I only put 2 & 2 together last year when I saw that the chipboard base had blown, then actually saw teh water dripping next time the weather was bad (as it is now!!). The Installer serviced it a few months ago, thats when I asked him, I wondered...

    Baffle for boiler flue

I did wonder if something like that would be the case, but as it's only on 2 sides I was hoping it's possible.

    Baffle for boiler flue

Hallo. My boiler's flue, looking at it from outside, visibly slopes down into the inside of the house. The wall it's on faces west. When it rains heavily from a SW direction (which is the prevailing wind here on the coast, like today), water ends up dripping out of the bottom of the boilerl. I...

    staining coping

I'm about to put add some wall coping to a wall. I could only buy light gray. Is there a stain rather than a paint that I could use to darken the colour to charcoal/dark gray? Thanks

    skoda radio

I have a Skoda fabia (W). I believe the skoda radio is a Grundig 'MS 402 A'. After a new battery, and entering the code all was well for about a day, but now it says 'safe' every time its turned on and if/when it gets to the enter code stage, enetering eg 1 for the 1st character makes eg the 3rd...

    outdoor electrics

Thanks Adam & JobnK. I was only planning one single and one double socket (not 3 doubles). If the spur/RCD FCU is a silly idea, I'd be happy to consider the other option. I may have mislead you re my cu - mine has 'trip switces', rather than the old fuses. I've just had a look and there...

    outdoor electrics

Thanks for replies. I know I need it (and me!) to be rcd protected. I was thinking that the current socket for 2 plugs could be converted to an RCD one, with a 'spur' somehow taken from this to an outside junction box. I'd have the electrician most of this, and connect to the armoured cable etc...

    outdoor electrics

Hallo chaps I'm wanting to install some electrics in the back garden, which will involve (hopefully) 1 plug socket outside the house, 3 plug sockets in a greenhouse (and possibly some low level lighting). I already have an armoured cable buried in the garden. To try and keep the cost down I...

Using Block paving for a wall

Ah, so thats what engineering bricks are! Thanks chaps. Is there any reason why these couldn't also be laid as edging for grass/soil (I want to have a run of the same brick from the lower wall to the upper edging)?
