    Supplementary Equipotential Bonding Q

I'd agree about plastic, in general, but this is what we've used in our roof space. https://catalog.uponor.com/en/catalog/indoor-climate/local-heat-distribution/pre-insulated-pipes/uponor-quattro/uponor-ecoflex-quattro.html The furry critters will have to go some to get through this stuff. The...

    Supplementary Equipotential Bonding Q

Many thanks for all the replies, really useful stuff. There appear to be two opinions, utterly at odds with each other, but both could be correct, depending on circumstances. I'm going to go with my electricians view that bonding is not required. As every circuit is protected by RCBOs, the...

    Supplementary Equipotential Bonding Q

I am having my house completely rewired and replumbed. Part of the new plumbing is a non-metallic pipe through the thatched roof void to avoid the need for the plumber to use a torch in the roof space. If he'd had to use copper and torches, we wouldn't be insured for fire. All good, so far. This...

    BT Wiring Question

Some more info.... I've got the bills for the two cottages and there is definitely something strange. Bill #1 is for the telephone number in the cottage that is working (with ADSL and BT home hub thing) for only £13.21 (£11.50 for "Unlimited Weekend Plan" and £1.71 is "Calling Feature...

    BT Wiring Question

I went back to the customer today. When I dialled 17070 I got the message that this service is not available. I tested for voltage across all the unused pairs on the incoming cable - all were dead. Stupidly I'd forgotten to take my mobile with me so I couldn't retest dialling the two distinct...

    BT Wiring Question

Thanks everyone, there's some very helpful information on this thread. I can't get back to the customer site until Wednesday but I'll update back here with what I find. Once again, thanks for all your help so far.

    BT Wiring Question

I was using a digital meter. I don't think so but I'll redo the test. I thought I'd checked every combination of the other wires and got no voltage. Now you've given the the specific pairings I can recheck with more knowledge. Thanks so much for your help with this, it's helping me...

    BT Wiring Question

Absolutely certain. I've traced it from the pole to the house and through the wall to inside. Yes. Phone stopped ringing and BT Home Hub lost BB connection. The number for cottage #1. Thanks for your help so far.

    BT Wiring Question

I have a customer who owns two adjacent holiday cottages, each with their own distinct phone number. They have a BT master socket in each. BT provided a single 8 core cable to one of the cottages and ran a seperate cable between the incoming master socket and the master in the other cottage. The...

    Potterton Suprima 60L Problem

Ah, maybe I do have an old PCB. It's in a drop down metal enclosure and can be clearly seen when accessed. I'm pretty sure it's not in plastic. Can't do it now but I'll have another look tomorrow to confirm. Rads are all heating normally. Thanks very much for all the help. Much appreciated.

    Potterton Suprima 60L Problem

Flashing red. When I press reset the green comes on, the fan comes on, and sometimes it restarts and sometimes it resets back to flashing red again. In my first post I said that the CH seems to be fine. Well I spoke too soon. It's just reset with only the CH on.

    Potterton Suprima 60L Problem

I've had this boiler from new for about 7 year with no problems so far. Recently it's started going offline occasionally. It seems to be ok if central heating only is used or central heating and hot water. However, with only hot water it's resetting itself. I've seen loads of complaints about...
