thanks for the advice the tee joints, these are the sort of thing I was looking at, looking at those IP68 seems to be pretty much around the area I'd be happy with, I think the above ground ones would work as I can connect the tee connectors to the base of the fence post.

Thanks. I'll find out what cable is. Fron the sounds of it I think it will need to be tee'd of, but these waterproof junctions looked pretty pricey. Although to be honest I only checked out what was available on screwfix.
