    Thanks, I'll get a traditional plug and somehow put the chain around the knob. Would a rubber one be good enough? Or could I get a metal one as long as the size is the same as the old one? Not very stylish but that's all I can do. Will be looking for a plug saying 'don't waste water'. Thanks again

    Thanks, I tried what you suggested. While operating the handle, the lever doesn't seem to move. Anything can be done rather than replacing the whole thing? A rubber plug (without its traditional overflow) would do? I am not sure I am using the correct terms here. Thanks again.

    After 15 years since installing the bath, turning the handle doesn't open/close the pop-up waste anymore. Now I don't keep the pop-up plug in as I need a snap-off knife to take off.
