I have unplugged everything from downstairs and then the electric is fine throughout the rest of the house. It doesn't matter what is plugged in downstairs to trip the RCD, - fridge, freezer, kettle, tv etc.

Hi the RCD in my house keeps tripping out whenever I use any appliances on the downstairs circuit. As well as the plugs circuits the RCD trips all other circuits including lights and the boiler etc. A friend at work advised me to use a multimeter to test the resistance of the plugs...
