Hot water to taps issue...new tank required?

At the flat now but cannot separate the kitchen tap.....maybe I can disconnect cold and hot supplies at the inline safety valves and then connect the cold supply to the hot and switch the cold on to push the air back. However need to get the right fixings...will check if i have. Also female to...

Hot water to taps issue...new tank required?

No, I am pretty sure not so. A video I just saw said if you take off top of mixer taps in kitchen and hold a towel over the exposed outlets and switch on taps it could work? I am not at property at the moment so cannt be sure re hot pipe but pretty dsure not so.

Hot water to taps issue...new tank required?

Yes I believe flexi hoses..I did all the work some years back...I am not at the flat so cannot check but think so. However hot tap slow at both upstairs sink and downstairs kitchen sink.I know that my son (he lives there but is in USA currently) put a new kitchen tap on but it worked fine. Are...

Hot water to taps issue...new tank required?

Hi, In our spit level flat the hot water to the downstairs kitchen sink has pretty nearly ceased running out of the taps. The upstairs sink is and has always been slow but that I put down to the lack of 'head height' from the hot water (vented) tank. Someone suggested the outlet fromthe tank...

Replacing leaking rad valve without draining system?

I think I get what you suggest. I logically can see how the pressure can be that great on the valve that exits the rad. So you suggest that I switch off the flow in the header tank and block the exit from the flow to the system. If I act quickly should be OK I believe. I am not a pro plumber...

Replacing leaking rad valve without draining system?

Its a one pipe system. I don't get the 'bung it' response. I have a header tank which i can switch off the main cold feed. However can't i just work quickly and take off and attach the valve?

Replacing leaking rad valve without draining system?

I have a leaking valve, beyond repair. Having recently drained system and installed new pipe run and rads I don't want to drain it again! Am thinking I could shut off rad one end and drain out water. Then quickly take off damaged valve as no pressure will be on it (valve where water exits). I...

    One pipe system ...help/advice

Thanks but there will be a way forward I am sure. There is a science to heating, as opposed to a try and see approach...

    One pipe system ...help/advice

Thanks for your response. However there must be a calculation as to how many rads a system can take, depending on size and output of rads, length of run and pipework? And of course the boiler. Also I can see that one rad has been added at some point and works fine.

    One pipe system ...help/advice

I have a one pipe system on a Ideal Mexico2 boiler. Works well and is serviced by BG as prior owners did so seemed good to continue. I need to add rads x 2 as there are areas that require greater output. I can work under suspended timber/block floor and need to knock through block work to...
