    Dealing with screw 'nib'

Just managed to get it out with a firm grip and some sharp long noes pliers. Didn't think it was going to work as the pliers kept breaking off what was sticking out - very soft screw. Reminded me I have a precision sander too actually!

    Dealing with screw 'nib'

Cheers all, no access to a grinder, so I'll choose punch first, then dremmel and see what happens

    Dealing with screw 'nib'

This is the first stage in the fill/sand/prep side of things, so yeah, not too fussed about that, I just dont want to gouge a massive bit out. I think I'll try a center punch, but does remind me I do have a dremmel from my Dad, he never used it, I was convinced I'd use it for loads of stuff...

    Dealing with screw 'nib'

Hey guys, I took some plate off our front door which must have been used for a doorbell of key safe or similar. Mostly came off as I expected, however, seems a screw was under it - small screw which has the head sheared or sawn off - all that's left is a nib less than 1mm, of a small screw in...

Wooden Front Door - Best filler, three areas

Nice. I did pop them an email earlier but not heard back yet, so might give them a call on a few days if not. Cheers :)

Wooden Front Door - Best filler, three areas

Cheers, seems my initial ideas weren't a million miles off the right solution, which is good. Any experience with the Oxera 4 hour sfuff in tubs? - looks good, 25 Quid delivered and in tubs rather than tubes will last longer.

Wooden Front Door - Best filler, three areas

Cheers Wayners. I'm not sure how is get that into the panel areas, feels like I'd need something I can gun in out of a tube then tool. You reckon Toupret is strong enough to walk on? As you can see, it's a thin layer id need. Seems these two part things are for more chunky repairs normally no?

Which roller and frame brand gets your vote ?

Diy dude here.. Emulsion - Wooster frame, Wooster pole, and Purdy white dove sleeves. Different sizes too, quite like the one between a 9" and mini roller seems handy on smaller rooms with lots of nooks Painting Wood sfuff - two fussy guys, and their roller (which is only okay, but their...

    Painting / covering kitchen cupboards

I had similar in a utility room on one door. I've stripped and painted the whole lot. In a nutshell: 1. Remove wrap, using a heat gun if necessary 2. if surface looks fine, prime, I used Zinsser 123 3. Move on to painting, my paint system wad a undercoat and three top coats. We're happy with...

    Painting over old mistcoat

I'm no expert, so take with a pinch of salt... If it was me id use Zinsser Gardz all over it first. Thay will deal with anything fresh plaster like. Then. A. Paint over it with chosen top coat B. Fill and sand any areas you want to perfect, the gardz in those bits, then top coat It's actually...

Wooden Front Door - Best filler, three areas

Hey everyone, A job I have been putting off for some time is painting our wooden front door. Before painting it there are three areas I need to address: 1. Slightly worn down threshold (it's gone back to bare wood, but only just. Idea: Toupret wood filler Concern: is it hard enough to cope...

    Emporer Masonry - Base Coat

Interesting, I'm a big fan of Toupret products! Is that essentially like 'filling the whole wall' but say 1-2mm being the goal, and perhaps using a float instead of a filling knife? I'd not trust myself with the front of my house or something, but I could probably give it a go! The surface...

Paint colour for an accent wall in a dark room?

The problem is probably the lighting then - ironically I discussed similar in one of their shops. Also makes a difference what colour it is now in my view. If its say mid grey everywhere in that room then it all being white (or other bright colour) will make it brighter and make the feature...

Paint colour for an accent wall in a dark room?

Oh and I just painted with 'Book Room Green' from them - a lovely colour, perhaps worth a look: https://www.littlegreene.com/book-room-green?gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwjaWoBhAmEiwAXz8DBWMXrqr8VJgDMm6YXIi6FT7GDkgj7Id147JjjqfR_1SslxAkYkdOfhoC94oQAvD_BwE It's probably a bit light for what you want, but...

Paint colour for an accent wall in a dark room?

If you happen to live near a Little Greene shop I would take this in. They can help you find something similar - not just from the two main colour cards either. They have their archive swatches, and they also have their paint and paper library. Should thay not suffice, they can also tweak and...
