Problems with Ideal Classic FF280 Boiler

That was my worry exactly, Chris. A job for the New Year I think. We've got some heating working for now with the boiler thermostat turned up a smidge. Hopefully that'll see us though Xmas. Thanks for all the help.

Problems with Ideal Classic FF280 Boiler

Thanks Breesey May well give your suggestion a try, but probably makes sense not to try Christmas weekend - just in case! The boiler thermostat is pretty much right up now. Scale 1-6, was set around 4, today approx 5 1/2.

Problems with Ideal Classic FF280 Boiler

Thanks for the quick reply, Chris. The pump does make a bit of a noise on start-up. The leaky fitting is a Y-shape and is on the Pumped Return Pipe. It has a square key nut on the end - the drip is from a piece of pipe which looks designed to have a hose fitted to it. The obvious thing...

Problems with Ideal Classic FF280 Boiler

Hi All Seasons Greetings and Nadolig Llawen from Wales I don't know much about Heating Systems so please bear with me. I have an Ideal Classic FF280 Boiler which appears not to be staying lit when it should be. Yesterday, my wife tells me it would only stay on for a minute or so and...

    Leaking Hoover WDM120

I certainly got the feeling it was a known design fault with this machine, although the engineer didn't say as much. The new hose was more substantial than the original one if that counts for anything.

    Leaking Hoover WDM120

Called out the Hoover Engineer, after giving him the symptoms he quickly homed in on not the pressure switch, but the hose feeding it. I had already tested it by blowing through it which worked fine, but there was a hole worn through the pipe which was not evident until the m/c was full of...

    Leaking Hoover WDM120

Thanks for your help anyway - not sure what I'll do yet. Are you interested in the outcome of what solves the problem?

    Leaking Hoover WDM120

Thanks for that, I was coming round to that conclusion. Any idea whether it's feasible to change myself? It seems to be in the depths of the machine below the main rotary switch. At first glance it looks like it would be a major stripdown to replace. I realise you can't visualise the...

    Leaking Hoover WDM120

The machine is a Hoover WDM120 1200 speed 6kg washer/dryer. 3 1/2 years old. The pressure switch did seem to make two clicks when blowing into it (and two when the air was released)

    Leaking Hoover WDM120

Our W/M flooded the kitchen on Saturday with water coming out of the door & soap drawer. From earlier posts I decided to check the level switch, the pipe seemed clear and I could hear the switch operating when I blew through it. I tried the cycle again which it was on (No. 7 40deg_dash) and...
