Badly fitted toilet - Advice needed

To be honest, as a HA tenant, I think this probably as good as it is going to get. At least it is functional and stable now but agree, it isn't a high end job. I will have to get their handy man to fill the plaster on the wall and pay for things like screw caps myself. They do the least they can...

Badly fitted toilet - Advice needed

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to help identify the problems, identify the toilet parts, advise me on exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done and also what to say to my HA. Without all of the info and advice, I don't think they would have taken me...

Badly fitted toilet - Advice needed

Just an update for everyone. They sent a plumber from a different company. He kept the existing toilet pan but removed all the mastic etc from the bottom. He has cut the soil pipe back and used a flexible connector pipe. He has replaced the flush pipe. It is securely screwed to the floor with...

Badly fitted toilet - Advice needed

Hi everyone, they sent someone out from a company with a name along the lines of AllServices4U. The guy who turned up didn't seem overly bothered about the job and tried to say the problems were mostly cosmetic. I told him that there is nothing but fresh air between the rear third of the toilet...

No. They decided to go with a different company. The manager wired up my neighbour's lighting incorrectly and they had to send in a proper sparky who said it was wired completely incorrectly and he was surprised the circuit hadn't blown so perhaps I am not the only one to complain about the...

"Then, ultimately, you can get a heavy visitor to come in and break the pan by rocking around on it. It'll crack out from the screw holes. or the screws will pull out" Ha ha! That sounds like a plan They did agree for another company to come in to repair the bodge job at least so now I can...

Badly fitted toilet - Advice needed

Thank you so much for all your advice and diaphragms. That makes it all so clear. The problems are that there is a gap of nearly an inch at the rear third of the loo where the bottom of the pan meets the floor - literally just fresh air there which means that it wobbles backwards/side to side...

Badly fitted toilet - Advice needed

This is how deep the gap is between the toilet and the floor with 3 zinc coated screws inserted into the 4 holes, of which, one of the screws is at a 45 degree angle with no washer
