F&E tank overfilling, not the ball valve

Okay thank you! Unfortunately it’s not a straight pipe from the F&E tank, it snakes around a bit! So unfortunately gunna have to get into the pipework I think I assume if I drained down the system and chucked some sludge remover in the F&E tank then filled it all up again it wouldn’t really...

F&E tank overfilling, not the ball valve

Okay thanks for everyone’s comment appreciate it!, I’ve found an area where magnet sticks the pipe starts in as the outlet of the F&E tank then meets a t junction which goes into the cylinder and then maybe down to the boiler? It seems the pipe size shrinks there, I’ve attached a pic , where...

F&E tank overfilling, not the ball valve

Not that I’m aware of, no signs of anything leaking Edit: we have a single hot tap that’s now slowly dripping upstairs… Okay I shall do when I’m home, I’m not too clued up with plumbing can you explain what this will do/why?

F&E tank overfilling, not the ball valve

Hi, just want peoples thoughts on this, I have a vented system, quite old, I have to put the hot water and heating on to get the radiators hot but I can just have the hot water on with no radiators getting hot. So the problem I have is my F&E tank overfills, it’s not ball valve letting by. It...

    Flat roof insulation query

Thanks, I’ve done as you’ve suggested one slight query, don’t no if it’s a big deal or not, but the air gap is mostly 90mm between roof and insulation however there are a couple of small support beams attached to the roof 50mm wide by 40mm height, this means there’s a small area with only 40mm...

    Yes it is!

    Flat roof insulation query

Ideally I’d do that but it all looks in good nick, I’ve had a look around I can’t see any obvious vents but I assume they will be there? The roof covers multiple rooms and I’m just changing one ceiling so I can’t see all the way around the roof, as long as I leave an air gap of like 50mm should...

    Flat roof insulation query

Hi, got a flat roof which had polystyrene tiles which I’ve just removed, they were attached to plaster board, I’ve noticed there’s no insulation above plaster board, I’m thinking of removing the plaster board and putting rock wool or some sort of insulation between the joists then putting up new...

    Spurred fuse terminal capacity

No your really not mate The old did but I do not have the data sheet so I don’t no how many it should accept, if you look at the original post it was me asked if 4 terminal ones exist, one person found one, but they don’t seem to be common

    Spurred fuse terminal capacity

You are not allowed to have two spurs, from a single point on the ring And no, it’s normally Terminals accept 3 x 2.5mm², 2 x 4mm² or 1 x 6mm² cables, https://www.toolstation.com/mk-13a-spur-unit/p44377

    Spurred fuse terminal capacity

    - well they have spurred off twice on a ring main potentially overloading so yes they do need to be on the load side And that was my original question, you look at any reputable manufactures data sheets the terminal capacity is almost always 3x 2.5mm (one person on the feed did find one) seems...

    Spurred fuse terminal capacity

No neon or switch unfortunately, unswitched spur, it’s like there used the supply terminal as sort of a junction box, with the 2 sockets spurring off it, I don’t no why they just didn’t put it in the load, they must of had a hell of a job fitting 4 wires in the one terminal

    Spurred fuse terminal capacity

I thought it was at to but the load goes off to the conservatory, as for supply, 2 of the wires are for the ring main, one is for a socket nearby and the other one I couldn’t determine what it was for suspect it’s another socket, I can’t understand why the socket and suspected socket weren’t in...
