    If i take the plug off the black round unit that the mains cable goes into and switch on at plug it does not trip

    I have disconnected the plug from them motor, heating element(tub), element (dryer) and it still trips with the door closed. If the door is open the power remains on but as soon as i close the door it trips again. What do i do next?

    I have now got the machine to power up but if i ask it to start any cycle it trips my rcd out, this seems to be the same time the door latch locks, could this be faulty and how do i check it?

    yes i have a meter and have looked around for any obvious wiring damage but cant see any

    When i plug hotpoint wd640 into mains the RCD on my consumer unit trips out. I would like some info on how i go about finding the faulty component in tne machine
